Fresher resume example

Software Developer resume example

Recruiters hiring a fresher developer look for proof that you can finish something, not just list languages. A working project with a link, one honest internship or training stint, and clean descriptions of what you built carry more weight than a long tools list. Show the problem, what you built, and how you checked it worked.

Professional summary

Computer science graduate who enjoys turning small, real problems into working software. Built three full projects in Python and JavaScript, including a library catalogue app now used by a college reading club. Comfortable with Git, REST APIs and SQL basics, and careful about testing changes before calling them done. Looking for a first developer role where I can ship small features well and learn a production codebase.

Projects

  • Built a library catalogue web app with a college reading club team of four, using Python, Flask and SQLite, so members could search 800 plus book records and reserve copies online
  • Added login, due date reminders and a simple admin page after club members asked for them, and rewrote the search to return results in under a second
  • Wrote a personal expense tracker in JavaScript that imports bank statement CSV files, groups spending by category and draws a monthly chart
  • Created a command line quiz tool for classmates preparing for placement tests, with timed rounds, score history and questions loaded from a plain text file
  • Published all project code on GitHub with setup instructions, screenshots and a short note on what I would improve next

Internship and Training

  • Completed a six week remote internship with a small web services studio, fixing front end bugs from a shared task list and pairing with a senior developer on code reviews
  • Converted three static pages to a responsive layout during the internship and checked them on small phone screens before handing them back
  • Finished a structured course on data structures and algorithms, solving practice problems daily and writing up my approach for the harder ones

Campus and Coursework

  • Led the coding club practice sessions for one semester, setting weekly problems and helping first year students debug their code
  • Scored highest in the database coursework project, designing a normalised schema for a hostel management system with five linked tables

Data Analyst

Sample resume: Priya Nair

For a first data role, recruiters want to see that you can take a messy file, clean it without losing track of what changed, and explain what the numbers mean in plain words. One or two projects that end in a clear finding, with the chart or table that supports it, beat a page of tool names. Mention the size of each dataset so the reader can judge the work fairly.

Customer Support

Sample resume: Rohan Sharma

Support hiring managers read for calm wording, clear writing and evidence that you can stay patient with a frustrated person. Any work where you answered questions, handled complaints or explained steps to the public counts, including campus help desks, event desks and family business counters. Say how many people you helped and what you actually did, not just that you are a people person.

Digital Marketing

Sample resume: Ananya Iyer

Marketing recruiters for fresher roles look for hands on practice, even on small accounts. Running a club page, a family shop account or your own content series shows you can plan posts, read basic analytics and adjust. Share honest numbers with context, such as the size of the account, instead of growth claims with nothing behind them.
